In what comes as a massive revelation, West Indies cricketer, part of the ongoing Test series against Australia, has been charged with sexual assault.
The revelation has been made in the first Test between Australia and the West Indies. The charges on the said Windies cricketer include sexual misconduct, including rape and sexual assault. The accusations were first brought to light by Guyanese media outlet Kaieteur News and later reported by SportsMax TV.Â
Despite the team performing well on the field, the off-field controversy has stirred up the players within the team and the support staff. The complaint has been lodged by a young woman from Berbice, Guyana. This followed a report that at least 11 women suffered sexual assault, one of them being a teenager.

Since the complaint has been made, more women have come forward alleging incidents of sexual assault, inappropriate behavior, and harassment. The Guyanese newspaper reported on the incident with the headline 'Monster in Maroon,'Â alleging that the Windies cricketer is being covered up.
"I have heard accounts from no fewer than eleven women, one of them a teenager, who allege that they have been sexually assaulted, raped, or subjected to unwanted sexual advances by him" read one of the paras from the publication.
Meanwhile, the television channel SportsMax reached out to Cricket West Indies to have their say on the matter. The CWI President said that they were unaware of any such incident.
"Cricket West Indies is unaware of the circumstances and, therefore, is not in a position to comment at this time," CWI President Kishore Shallow was quoted as saying, in the report.

Meanwhile, the first Test between West Indies and Australia in Barbados has moved at a rapid pace. More than 20 wickets fell in the first two days of the Test match. Television umpire Adrian Holdstock was criticised for making a few controversial calls during the Windies batting effort in the first innings. At stumps on day 2, Australia are leading by 82 runs, having scored 92 runs for four wickets in their second innings. The Aussies scored 180 after opting to bat first. West Indies responded by scoring 190 in their first innings.
