IPL 2025 Orange Cap
IPL 2025 is the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League. Introduced on 25th April 2008, the Orange Cap is an individual accolade that is awarded to the batter who accumulates the most number of runs at the end of the tournament. Shaun Marsh won the very first IPL Orange Cap in 2008 after scoring 616 runs from 11 games. However, Kiwi legend Brendon McCullum wore the very first Orange Cap in the history of the league after his explosive 158 unbeaten knock against RCB. What are the Rules for IPL 2025 Orange Cap?
- The highest run-getter of the ongoing tournament will be judged as the Orange Cap winner.
- During the tournament, the current highest run-getter wears the Orange Cap when his team is fielding.
- If one or more players are tied for the top spot, then the player with the highest strike rate will be given the cap.
- If a player surpasses the previous highest run getter during the game, then the previous holder is allowed to wear the cap till the end of that innings.
