Host nation Zimbabwe has announced its 16-man squad for the upcoming tri-series, with experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza set to lead the side. They’ll open the series against South Africa on July 14 at Harare Sports Club.
The tri-series, featuring Zimbabwe, South Africa, and New Zealand, marks the beginning of preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Both the Proteas and the Black Caps have already named their squads, combining youth and experience.

Zimbabwe Blend Experience with Fresh Faces in Tri-Series Squad
Zimbabwe’s squad includes several established names along with a few fresh additions, reflecting a more revamped unit under Raza’s leadership.
The team sees the return of Brian Bennett, who was sidelined with a concussion during the Test match against South Africa but has now been cleared to play. Left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava also makes his comeback after recovering from injury.
Three uncapped players have been included in the squad: wicketkeeper Tafadzwa Tsiga, left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri, and leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa. Meanwhile, experienced players Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, and Tashinga Musekiwa have been retained.

The tri-series will follow a double round-robin format, with each team playing the others twice. The top two teams on the points table will meet in the final, scheduled for July 26 at Harare Sports Club.
