Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will bump heads with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 53rd match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 4.

KKR, captained by Ajinkya Rahane, is battling inconsistency, occupying seventh place on the IPL 2025 points table with four victories in ten games. The defending champions have struggled to find form with their campaign marked by erratic performances. 

A gritty 14-run triumph over Delhi Capitals (DC) in their most recent match, fueled by Sunil Narine’s three-wicket haul, has kept their playoff aspirations flickering. Varun Chakaravarthy is leading their bowling attack with 13 wickets, while Rahane is their top-scorer with 297 runs in nine innings.

RR, led by Riyan Parag, is languishing at eighth spot, securing only three wins from eleven matches, eliminating them from playoff contention. They began the season with two victories in four games but faltered with consistent defeats, including a massive 100-run loss to Mumbai Indians (MI) in their latest outing. 

Young 14-year-old star Vaibhav Suryavanshi has shone for RR, smashing a brilliant century against Gujarat Titans (GT). Alongside him, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the backbone of RR’s batting, amassing 439 runs in the season so far.
