Ireland pacer Curtis Campher scripted history as he became the first Man pacer to take five wickets in five balls. In a T20 game between Munster Reds and North-West Warriors in the inter-Provincial T20 Trophy. The right-arm bowler snared five wickets in five consecutive balls, becoming the first-ever man to achieve this record in professional cricket. He finished with stunning figures 5/16 in just 2.3 overs.

Campher, who was leading the Munster Reds, took his five wickets across the second and third overs, and his superb efforts saw Warriors being reduced from 87/5 to 88 all-out in their chase of 189. Records are not often achieved in sports. Campher's five wickets in fall balls have never ever been achieved in a Men's game, now dominated by batters ever since T20 cricket has made his presence felt. The Irish pacer is also now on the list of bowlers who have taken four wickets in four balls in T20Is.

“Performances aside, it has been really good just to be around the boys. When you get injured, it's a bit of a dark place when you get into the gym and stuff like that,” said Camper.

“So it has been really nice, just been treated with the weather too. So I have been really enjoying myself and putting pressure on myself to do well, and it has kind of made me work for the last little bit,” he added.

The five wickets in five balls feat was achieved in Women's cricket when Zimbabwe all-rounder Kelis Ndhlovu scalped five in five while playing for the U19 team against Eagles Women in the domestic T20 tournament in 2024.
