GT and MI played a terrific encounter at the Wankhede Stadium. Ultimately, it was the Titans who prevailed in this close encounter and won the match by three wickets. GT chased down 15 runs to win off the final over and won their eighth match of the season, which took them to 16 points.

GT was down to 132 runs for 6 wickets in 18 overs after the pause in the game. The target was revised to 147 runs from 19 overs, with GT needing 15 runs to win off the final over.

Gill has scored 508 runs in 11 matches at an average of 50.80, with a strike rate of over 152 and five fifties this season so far. He has become the third IPL skipper to score over 500 runs in a season before turning 26 years old.
Before him, Shreyas Iyer achieved the feat in 2020. He scored 519 runs in 17 matches at an average of 34.60, a strike rate of over 123, with three fifties and a best score of 88* runs.
Before him, it was Virat Kohli who scored over 500 runs in his first season as skipper of RCB in IPL 2013. He was the third-highest run-getter that season, with 634 runs in 16 matches at an average of 45.28, a strike rate of 138.73, with six half-centuries and a best score of 99 runs.
