In a major development, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) IPL 2025 match will be shifted from Dharamsala to Mumbai in the wake of Indian Army's Operation Sindoor.
The Indian Army retaliated and targeted a few hideouts of Pakistan's militant groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Muhajideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammad. The pinpoint operation crashed down those spots within just seven minutes.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has decided to move out the PBKS vs MI match due to security concerns. The match will be played on May 11. However, the venue has been shifted from Dharamsala to Mumbai.

BCCI Waiting Clearance On PBKS vs DC Encounter From Central Government
Given the close proximity of Dharamsala from the India-Pakistan border, the BCCI has taken the major decision of shifting the venue for the match. Dharamsala is just 60 km away from the border and the BCCI understandably does not want to risk the lives of the fans who will be at the ground to watch the match.
Previously, with reports of the Dharamsala airport being shut, the BCCI took some time out to change the travel plans and incidentally changed the venue for match 61 between Punjab and Mumbai.
"We will have to wait and watch for now. There is no option because even Chandigarh airport is shut so we need to see what can be done. Two teams are already here and MI were supposed to arrive later this week for their match on May 11. The nearest option is the Delhi airport but that would mean a long road journey for the teams. We are tracking government advisories and will take the call as necessary," said a senior BCCI official.
The BCCI is also in touch with the central government to seek the clearance status for the match between PBKS and DC on May 8 in Dharamsala.
There are no changes to the KKR vs CSK IPL 2025 match as of now as either. Match 57 of IPL 2025 will also go as per plan, with KKR needing a win to stay alive in the playoff race. 14 more league games are still remaining, followed by the playoffs and the final.
