Former India wicketkeeper-batter Farokh Engineer & former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd are set for a recognition as the two stalwart players will be honored with stands after them at Old Trafford by the club they played during their playing days, Lancashire, during the fourth England vs India Test in Manchester on Wednesday, July 23.
Engineer was with Lancashire County for close to a decade, making them win the Gillette Cup four times, while Lloyd was with the club for two decades and made vital contributions in making Lancashire a champion side. As reported by PTI, the stand-naming event could be held one day before the start of the fourth ENG vs IND Test on July 23. "It is a fitting honor for both legends of the club," said the source.

The former India wicketkeeper-batter played 175 matches for the prestigious club from 1968 to 1976, scoring 5942 runs, taking 429 catches, and effecting 35 stumpings.

"They were incredible times, and Old Trafford was a marvelous place to be. People would come for miles to see us play," the Engineer had told the club website a few years ago.
"From the Old Trafford dressing room, we could see Warwick Road railway station, and before the game, we would see packed trains emptying passengers on the platform. We could hear the chanting and the excited chatter and laughter," he recalled.
Farokh Engineer recalls his time with the Lancashire Club
The cricket expert fondly recalled his time with the Lancashire Club and explained what made the team a champion side for a long time. He also recalled receiving fan mail during his playing days.

"It was amazing, our lockers would be stuffed full of requests for autographs and invitations to parties. Everyone in England was talking about that great team, names like Clive Lloyd, Harry Pilling, Peter Lever, and Ken Shuttleworth," he said.
"That buzz lasted for years, and we were the most famous one-day team in the land."

Speaking about the Test series, England are leading the five-match series, 2-1. India needs to win the Manchester Test to take the game to the fifth and final Test.
