Gill-Jadeja Stand Leaves Stokes Frustrated

Stokes chopped and changed his bowlers and he did with his field placements. He kept fielders close in to even getting them at catching positions but Gill and Jadeja did not play anything fancy in their partnership.

While Stokes kept on changing his fielders and putting them in irregular positions, Shubman Gill could not resist saying "Kuch bhi laga raha hai, kuch bhi" to Jadeja.

At one point, Stokes had a midwicket, a square leg, two deep midwickets, a deep backward square and a fine leg, all of them on the leg side. He tried his best to get Jadeja and Gill rattled by his decision but it surely did not work.

The partnership was finally ended by Josh Tongue, who was England's most expensive bowler on day 1. He bowled a sharp bouncer to Ravindra Jadeja that took his gloves and lobbed up in the air for an easy catch by Jamie Smith.
